Made from pure, natural clay, mined in the Westerwald region by the Rhine in Germany, our revolutionary process transforms the rich, terracotta clay into small, highly porous granules which have incredible water absorbency. The granulate is used to replace traditional soil in indoor plants, and, when blended with high quality pine bark, also form the ideal mix to grow beautiful, delicate orchids. Amazingly, the lightweight granules are capable of holding more than 100% of their weight in water, retaining the water until the plant’s roots need it (preventing water logging of roots) and at the same time, providing vital oxygen supply to roots from air trapped in the tiny microscopic pores and between the granules themselves.
